Recently people are asking for an appraisal and when I send them the evaluation, I get responses back that a similar item is posted on sites like 1stdisbs for so much. What people are not taking into account is the fees to join sites like this one will cost a lot and dealers have to recoup those expenses somehow. Second they advertise their items to the very high caliber buyers, decorators and collectors. If you want a realistic value of your item, you need to look at what items are selling in your area at local auctions, not the most expensive gallery.
